Community Partners of South Florida (CPSFL) mentoring programs link children with caring adults committed to their social and emotional development. The goal of CPSFL mentoring programs is to help build protective factors, foster a sense of connectedness, and support social-emotional learning through a positive adult mentor/mentee relationship. In these ways, mentoring programs help to build healthy communities and improve the quality of life of children and families.
Mentored youth have an opportunity to form lasting relationships with significant mentors who provide guidance and support. Participation in a nurturing, stable relationship with an adult in their life increases their protective factors. The CPSFL mentoring programs are based on Elements of Effective Practice for Mentoring™. Mentors and mentees meet and participate in supervised, structured activities at school-based sites during traditional, after-school hours: Monday through Friday from 2:30 - 6:30 p.m., and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
