Annual NeighborWorks Week Celebration
On Saturday, June 10, forty Palm Beach County residents volunteered together to beautify a supportive housing residence in Lake Worth called the Celtic Apartments. The project is part of a weeklong celebration of neighborhood improvement activities nationally recognized as NeighborWorks Week. During NeighborWorks Week, Community Partners of South Florida (CPSFL) and other NeighborWorks network organizations nationwide celebrate community achievements and how they are working together to improve lives and empower communities for success.
Volunteers completed exterior landscaping and building maintenance at an apartment community home for sixteen individuals working towards independent and stable living.
NeighborWorks America, Khanna House Studios, Valley Bank, Regions Bank, Clutch Solutions, Treasure Property Group and the Solid Waste Authority of Palm Beach County generously sponsored the project. The Orchid Store and Clutch Solutions made generous in-kind contributions. Sedulous Strength and Conditioning, Khanna House Studios, and Palm Springs Middle School students collected personal hygiene products and household cleaning supplies to give to donate to residents.
Housing and Mental Health are the top two reasons Palm Beach County residents called the 211 Palm Beach/Treasure Coast Help Line for emergency assistance, accounting for more than half of calls in 2022. Community Partners of South Florida provides permanent and transitional affordable housing options in community settings where residents can unite in support and friendship while receiving services from qualified case managers.
"The bottom line is that everyone deserves to live in safe and dignified housing. Our clients define their goals, and we provide tools and resources on their journey to self-defined success." - Scott Hansel, Chief Executive Officer
Along with housing solutions, CPSFL provides case management for people with disabilities, including those with mental health diagnoses. CPSFL offers independent living support, makes home visits, and provides resources to residents.
“I’m in a much better place now. I am grateful to the fantastic people at CPSFL for helping me get my life back. They are kindhearted individuals looking to help people out. CPSFL has so many support systems. If you are struggling with anything at all, they have someone to help you with work, transportation, food, mental health, and housing.” - Tyler, Palm Beach County resident, former CPSFL client
