LYNDA’S BLOG: The Riviera Beach Homebuyers Club Housing Fair

I’m pleased to announce that our annual housing fair, hosted by Community Partners of South Florida (CPSFL) and the Riviera Beach Community Development Corporation (RBCDC), will take place on Saturday, March 4, 2023.

The indoor and outdoor event will be held at The Riviera Beach Marina from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Although pre-registration is not required, we hope you will visit our Eventbrite link to help us get an idea of the number of participants.

Our inaugural housing fair in 2019 attracted over 230 people!

It was a year ago this week when we were able to congratulate Ms. Adrian Bedford and Ms. Tabbatha Durden-Weathersbee on the groundbreaking of their new homes. Our organization was honored to play a vital role in their journeys. Read the full story here of our partnership with RBCDC then.

Together, CPSFL and RBCDC have over 50 years of combined experience in affordable housing and community development.

“Everyone deserves decent, safe, and affordable housing. We want to make available all the housing resources possible for our residents,” says Annetta Jenkins, executive director of RBCDC.

“This annual event is important because addressing the housing crisis requires both an investment in people -- in terms of preparing them for homeownership – and a commitment to build housing that is attainable for families to access,” says Scott Hansel, CEO of CPSFL.

First-time or potential homebuyers will find the programming particularly interesting, although the fair promises something for everyone.

Ludie Celucien, CPSFL’s housing outreach and Homebuyers Club coordinator says, “It’s not just hearing information from experts; it’s sharing among peers and learning together.” Speakers will cover topics such as budgeting, pre-purchase requirements, taxes, and much more.

The free and family-friendly event will also have food trucks, face painting for the kids, and chances to win fun prizes!
